Biography :

Kevin M. Weeks is an African American writer and philanthropist. His writing career started in 2006 when he released the first novel in an urban crime fiction book series called The Street Life Series®. The story chronicles the life of main character Teco Jackson, who initially lives the dangerous street life but ultimately becomes a positive male figure in the series. Readers travel across the globe with Teco and see how he responds as crime happens all around him.
Because Weeks was born on the rough side of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he understands the challenges of “at-risk” youth. Therefore, book proceeds benefit the Stay Off The Streets Fund, which is an American Endowment Foundation charitable fund to aid “at risk” teenagers who age out of foster care without a strong support structure. He is also one of the author sponsors of the Awareness Magazine (AMAG) Internship Program and the Hip Hop & Books Initiative. For more information, visit www.thestreetlifeseries.com.

Book Review :

"The Street Life Series: Is It Suicide or Murder? is a very strong debut novel in the urban fiction genre. The plot was engaging, and the pacing was well suited to a novel of this type. The dialogue came off as very convincing, and did a good job propelling the story. The author (Kevin M. Weeks) has a very accessible prose style, which makes the book just plain fun to read. Weeks successfully conveys a sense of realism necessary for a convincing genre novel, through both dialogue and narrative. He excels at combining dialogue and descriptive passages, and keeps the story moving along nicely. The novel will be enjoyable to a wide audience." -- Writer's Digest 15th Annual Self-Published Book Awards
