It's no surprise that many book publishers took notice that mobile devices and tablets are revamping the way we interact with media. Although print is not expected to disperse anytime soon, publishers are increasing production of eBooks to better accommodate the transitioning consumer. Improving the overall user experience such as the eBook design and typography was noted as an important priority for manufacturers and publishers. Book Discovery Gets More Complicated

With reader behavior in fluctuation, book discovery is fast becoming a much more complex process. The ways in which people engage and discover new content has increasingly grown. In a 2011 study, market researchers found that nearly half of consumers changed their book-buying behavior. Kelly Gallagher, the vice-president of publishing services at Bowker, stated that book marketers should start focusing on specific readers and understand what kinds of marketing they respond to best. However, among all this change, one aspect of book discovery remains a constant - personal recommendations.
